Jamesy Gannon's Barndance / The Height's of Alma / All the way to SLigo

from Hiding Daylight in Dark Corners by James Carty

about

This barndance appears in a book given to me by Kevin Burke called The Professor, James Morrison, a collection of original hand written manuscripts from Morrison that were put together by his former pupil Veronica McNamara. It is simply titled Barndance although Michael Gorman again credited it to Jamesy Gannon who may have wrote it. The two polkas that followed were recorded by Galway flute player Tom Morrison along with Michael Coleman in 1925 for the Columbia label. I hadn’t really planned to go into these and didn’t tell Brian, so I had to try and telepathically inform him of the key change using only my eyes.
